Professional Qualifications
|
Professional qualifications are programmes of study that focus mainly on one specific professional area (Accounting, Audit, Investment, Management, Law, Engineering, Marketing, Banking, etc.). These qualifications are awarded by globally recognized associations and / or chartered bodies from the USA, the UK and other countries after successful completion of a programme of study and a specific period of related professional experience.
For example, it is usually a requirement at major consulting firms (Deloitte, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst & Young KPMG κ.ά.) for partners and higher level managers to be ACCA qualified (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or CIA qualified (Certified Internal Auditor). In the USA, members of the higher management at major banks or investment organizations such as American Express, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Salomon Smith Barney are usually CFA holders (Chartered Financial Analysts).
The qualifications are awarded by the association itself and exams may be taken in almost any part of the world. The exams are the same wherever the qualification is taught and the qualification’s dominance is common throughout the world in the professional arena. Among the most well known qualifications that are offered in Greece by Globaltraining are the following: Accounting & Finance: ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). Internal Auditing: CIA (Certified Internal Auditor). Finance, Investment Management: CFA (Chartered Financial Analysts). Public Relations: CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations).
